Congregational Care Program
The Congregational Care Program offers education for lay people chosen
by their pastors and congregations to provide caring support.
With the guidance of their professional ministers and rabbis, those
wishing to help others can join VIPCare's Congregational Care Program
to become skilled listeners and knowledgeable
caregivers.
VIPCare faculty members provide 24 hours of instruction: lecture,
scripture study, group discussion, readings, role play demonstration,
case presentations and worship.
Topics
- Listening & caring skills
- Walking through the valley of the shadow: depression,
anxiety, anger
- Caring in a crisis; when and how to refer
- Caring for persons in transition: job loss, divorce
- Grief and loss
- Hospital and home visits to the sick and the elderly
- Family life issues: marriage, parenting, and blended
families
- The wounded healer: self-care

congregation(s). Options include meeting on weeknights or
Saturdays in 8 sessions of 3 hours, 6 sessions of 4 hours, or
with an opening or closing retreat.

In addition, up to 3 individuals from other churches may join at a
tuition paid to VIPCare of $300 per person, or $850 for 3 persons from
